OMC Cobra water pump shaft seal

Hey guys, I just found LOTS of water in my stb cobra. I drained and pressurized the entire unit to about 10 psi and heard air escaping from the raw water intakes on the lower unit so I removed water pump housing and confirmed gross leak through the water pump shaft seal. Question is... can the adaptor plate be pulled from the outside or do you have to drive it out from the inside. It seems to be very happy where it is.<br /><br />Thanks for any help!

Thanks Cobra. Do you press the plate out or tap it out?<br /><br />I have the Clymers manual but it does not cover this, anybody know if the Seloc does?

I stand corrected, the water pump adaptor plate and seal replacement is covered in the Clymers manual, I found it under the cooling section.
