Picked up a cheap boat to repair. It's a 1987 Chris Crast 2.3 ford OMC Cobra drive. Guy said they ran it out of oil? Hard telling he didnt even know it was an OMC. told me it was a Merc. Any way, engine had oil in it. engine turns by hand. What i noticed when i got it home was the raw water hose had come off the drive by the bellows. I got the hose back on but no way to tighten clamp. To tight between hose and housing to spin clamp. Also to tight between bellows ans hose to tighten from that side. How the heck do you tighten it? Any suggestions? thanks

remove the bell housing, and the bellows to gain access to the water tube. Be careful when placing the hoseclamp that you leave room for the bellows to fit.
As far as the oil. did you check to see if there is oil in the drive? If the engine was run out of oil. The oil pump will be junk. Check your compression, if it's decent, run the motor with the flushing adapter connected to the drive. Never start youur boat without water!
When it starts, Keep a close watch on your oil pressure and temp.
If the motor was only run briefly without oil it may be saveable, At least for a while, without a rebuild. If your cobra drive was run without oil, it needs to come apart.
