I Have been recently been having some issue with my 150 being slow on the holeshot, not running at the speeds it should and various other issues.... took the boat out yesterday evening and had the same issues as normal... while i waited for my buddy to back the trailer in, i found a knob under my key that turns... I found that it was very loose... i tightened it all the way up to see what it did and all I can say is WOW.... I dont know if it was coincidence or if this is important, but i had an amazing holeshot, awesome top-end speed, and the engine seemed to run better all the way around... I have OMC controls, and was just wondering what this knob is... A friend of mine, a part-time mechanic, was also at the ramp and looked at it, and had no clue what this was.... thanks in advance, Justin

actually the knob only controls the tension, on how hard the handle is to move. coincidence!!

Another thing i did notice was that before if i had the boat in neutral (while on trailer) and spun the prop by hand, it was making a clicking noise every rotation... after that adjustment last night, the prop free spins without any noise... thanks for the insite on that...
