omc conversion

Are the keyholes the same for a cobra outdrive and mercruiser outdrive? Am looking at purchasing a boat with a 3.0 omc and would like to change to mercruiser. Or would I be better off just purchasing a conversion outdrive?

I would just hold out for a Mercruiser in a different boat. You will be money ahead.
