I am rebuilding a 2003 johnson 150. The crank journals have some small pitting on them. Is any amount of pitting acceptable ? If if must be replaced, are the remanufactured cranks any good ?

By the book, any pit is unacceptable. In the real world, we've seen some tiny pits on a rod journal and the needle bearings were just fine. Hard to say without seeing what you have. In general I'd say that if the rod bearing on that journal has been fine then it'll continue to be fine. If you took the motor apart because of a rod bearing problem on that journal then a different crank is in order.

The main and rod bearings were fine. The motor is being rebuilt because of "LEAK DOWN" issues on #2/4 cylinders. I'll probably run it, but I think i'll take the crank to a mechanic just to be sure....
