OMC Engines

I need to replace a 2.5l 120 hp OMC inboard engine in an old 1975 Chaparrel I am restoring. I found a 3l 140 hp engine and it appears to be physically identical to the 120hp. I'd like to use the bigger engine if possible. Does anyone out there know if I will run into any gotchas on this? Thanks in advance...R

Post in the OMC repair section and give the model numbers of both engines. If they are the same year usually you can swap em. This section is primarily for boats.

Those motors are Twin Sisters........ The swap should be a Piece of Cake........
