You do not want to polish the inside of an intake manifold. The rough edge actually helps to keep the gas atomized in the air mixture thru turbulence. Polishing the exhaust side is ok as that creates a smoother flow out. And can actually help vacate the cylinders faster, which helps with the intake and exhaust overlap.

Thanks for the info Steel. I never new that, but this thread is in regards to an exhaust manifold, not an intake manifold.

I mentioned both Intake and exhaust so that someone reading this could understand a little better. lol. And the over lap is actually the valve timing in a four stroke motor. Forgot to mention that. Just trying to help.

By the way, what is a chance of snapping the bolts when trying to undo them on the manifold? Just do not wanna run into that issue trying to do the manifolds switch...

Won't know if bolts will snap till you try to turn them. Remember righty tighty, lefty losely.

Use lots of pb blaster and a wire brush to work it in. If they still wont budge then you can take a torch to them to help loosen things up.
