1) Does anyone have any links for places to purchase new/reman motors?

2) Is the long block the same as a ford 5.0 motor (meaning are the only things changed the dist, starter, carb, etc...)?

3) I may be interested in getting the 5.8 351 instead...will that all match up the same as far as fitting and my manifolds and accessories?

Thanks,
Harley

1)I have heard good things about Rapido Marine in Miami, Fla.
2)Yes,cam, core plugs 3)The 351 is a little taller & wider, because of the heads, but same accessories will fit both these engines. There are some previous posts you should look at. 'Search Ford 302'.....J

The 351 is about two inches taller, two inches wider and 50/60 lbs heavier. It also uses a different intake manifold and oil pan. You will also have to get new sleeves to connect your exhaust manifold outlets to your intermediate housing.

If money is not a great object you'd be better off (IMHO) getting a stroked 302 (to 331 cid) with the proper cam and brass freeze plugs. That way you could use your existing oilpan, intake, etc etc. and not have the extra dimensions and weight.

Sweet...I'll go with the 302. My sister's boyfriend has a mustang with a crate motor as of 2002 in it and he is willing to sell it to me for 1000...which is roughly what i've found long blocks for, before shipping. Thanks for the replies ;)

-harley
