OMC Fuel consumption charts ???

Does any one know where I could find fuel consumption charts to compare engins.<br />I'm going to get a new engin this spring,<br />I have a 1989 140 now on 21' boat modified V<br />I would like to step up to a 175 hp omc.<br />What would be the fuel consumption to compare. 130hp to 175hp omc engins.

Don't know of any charts. My experience going from 4 cylinders to 6 has been that the 6 will burn considerably more. ALthough I've never compared the two on the same boat.<br /><br />If you're comparing carb to Ficht the Ficht will use alot less. Also consider that the 6 won't have to work as hard as the 4. Consumption might be about the same.

Most motor web sites (Yamaha, Honda, Mercury, Bombadier, etc.) have a section that shows boat/motor performance testing. <br /><br />Most show the fuel usage graphs for different motors, as well as the fuel GPH at different RPMs.<br /><br />You probably won't find your boat there, but it will allow you to compare motors.
