OMC Lower unit lube question

Changed out the prop shaft seal..actually went MUCH better than expected. BUT I noticed that the lube was milky and proceded to change it......it is so "goopy" that its taking forever to drain out. It is still slick and slippery as all get out. Another BIG problem is that there was water draining out at the same time. Is there any way to fully evacuate the lower unit? Is there a lower unit flush and fill kit?? My current plan is to drain as much as possible, refill, run it a bit and drain and re-fill. Ill keep doing this until the "yuck" clears up and I get decent looking lube draining out. FYI- I overtightened the prop and burnt the prop shaft seal...when I removed the prop the only thing left was the round (or at least used to be round) spring O-ring. So Im confident that the water was entering from this blown seal.... When I did my first drain, refill, drain the lower drain plug shot out under pressure as I unscrewed it and alot of thick milky lube SHOT out. Should I continue this practice or just take it to the shop and be done with it??? Any and all suggestions are welcomed....Thanksnull

Re: OMC Lower unit lube question

Finaddict, It sounds like you still have L/U seal problems. A pressure test will reveal the problem.
When u remove the screw to drain, remove the vent screw too. Allways use new gaskets on the screws when refilling it. Refill by inserting the filler into the fill screw hole, and fill until it comes out the top vent screw hole. While stilll hoding the lube bottle in the fill hole, quickly install the vent screw. In a single motion, remove the lube bottle, and install the fill screw.
There aint no clean way to do this,so it's good to have lots of rags on hand,as well as hand cleaner.
Your plan on filling, running a while, then draining and refilling ,is the best way to get the gearcase clean.
