OMC mate with Alpha one outdrive?

Header asks the question. All I know now is V-6 OMC drive & has a bad (fixable?) out drive. The boat in question is a 1985 Baja Islander bowrider in perfect condition with a brand new ez-load trailer for $1500 (asking). I did a little looking around & found a guy parting out a mercruiser 3.0L alpha one for asking $500. Is this compatible? I'll have more info. later, going to look at it later. Advise please.

OP is talking about a stringer drive so that would not work.

Thanks for the info, I think the boat in question has been sold. The on line ad has been pulled & I could not find it when I drove around the lake it was at. (small lake & I would have seen it). Thanks again
