OMC mechanical steering replacement

Hey guys, I have an OMC mechanical steering system OMC #500191 6624. I need to replace it and am wondering if the length of the unit is somewhere in that serial #. I have a fiberglass boat just shy of 15ft. Hope you guys can help. Thanks

Disregard last post , I just cross referenced the number to a new Teleflex mechanical system. Thanks
