OMC Motor Identification

Hello;<br /><br />I have a very old OMC Outboard motor that I would like to know more about. The number that is on the plate is "4097-0035". Can you help me with getting more info on this motor? Such as year, hp, ect.<br /><br />Sure would appreciate it!!

Welcome Ray!<br /><br />Yep! OLD. 1935 4.6hp. Evinrude.<br /><br />There are several sites you can visit to get info on these older engines. One such site is the "Old OMC Site". Search it up. Lottsa' good info there. And good luck with the engine. I gotta' few oldies myself. Always fun to tinker with.

Also, visit www.aomci.org. Their forum section is a good place to ask questions about those real old-timers.<br /><br />Someone always has some decent used, but serviceable parts if you ask.
