OMC or aftermarket parts

I'm making a shopping list for parts I need for a complete rebuild for a 91 150 Evinrude "Spitfire Series" and was wondering if aftermarket gasket and seal kits were satisfactory. I know they are made to OEM specs, but do they perform like the original parts?

My experience has been that OMC parts are much better than aftermarket parts. Better construction, materials and quality. One example: OMC thermos are stainless steel, leading aftermarket supplier's are brass.

If they are made to original specs,they should perform as well.Is there an advantege for you to go aftermarket?<br /><br />If not,stay stock.<br />DHP
