Do I need to remove the rubber boot from the back of the boat to get the entire outdrive assembly removed from the engine? I have a 3.8L 229 engine that needs to be replaced.
yep.......remove outdrive, then remove boot, then all engine related connections.....engine should then come out with intermediate housing still attached.....once out of boat you can remove intermediate housing
