OMC outdrive steering

JUST WONDERING,,DOES AN 1986 COBRA HAVE ANY LUBE PLACES ON THE OUTDRIVE FOR THE STEERING,EVEN WITH THE CABLE FROM THE WHEEL IS OFF THE DRIVE IS HARD TO TURN SITTING ON THE TRAILER.I'M ASUMMING THE BUSHINGS ARE DRY OR NEED LUBE.<br />THANKS, JOE

After I typed my answer, I noticed you had a cobra. I only have knowledge re stringer steering. Sorry.

is it power steering if it is this is normal<br />if not it may be sticking in the bushing inside transom plate. take off cover on transom plate and have a look see.

not power steering..but it seemes to me the bushings should have a lube area on them someway,after all..things wearout

i.ve only seen one tighten up and lubing the top bushings helped

Marty, it's a quote from Alexander Hamilton. There was not enough characters remaining in the signature line to include the author or the period at the end of the quote. <br /><br />I, too, was impressed when I first read it. It goes to the core of one of today's biggest arguements.
