I presently own a 1987 Cruisers 26.6 with 7.5L (460). I have spent some money to get the engine running right and it does move on its own power but doesn't seem to get up onto plane as itshould. I checked the outdrive and the tag says 3.0L which I don't thinkis right but someone told me that the housing may be 3.0 but have the correct gears in it for the 7.5 endine. Anyway, I still want to change the outdrive tomake sure. My question is .... will an OMC 5.7/8L 985689 outdrive work onthisboat? Thanks in advance for any assistance?
