not life or death....running my boat this weekend doesnt rely on the replies..but:
in my quest to look for a parts motors and or parts for my motor ,( so in a the case of something going...I am a little more prepared to get it back to running fast.)...I have found that BRP has different part numbers for things that fit many different motors.
which is confusing...if they used a certain part for a motor and it interchanges with 5 different hp motors over 10 years of time...
but each one of those motors has a different part number for that particular part
example, my motor and eagle 60 degree looper V4 .. they made them in two hps 90 and 115...evinrude from 95-98 and hohnson from 1995-2006.
for the heads, the heads for a 90 has a different part number than the 115, but each heads part number cross reference says it fits the other hp as well..
so why different part numbers?
on some motor the parts that are the same, have the same part number...
but other parts that fit several motors have different part numbers.
this is important to us guys who dabble in trying to fix stuff..
we already have stickys on some of the parts groups, like Lower units..
well it isnt parts number cross reference, but it is model year compatibility..
so for my i d like to know really if there is a difference between the 90 and 115 hp heads, tha interchange, but have different #'s on the motor i have.
mine is a 1995 115, but I also have a 1997 90, both ocean runner/pro series motors that i have been scavenging parts from.
ohh chiiit, i am rambling.......maybe i should go do my tax return now..ha ha ha
