I have a 2000 Johnson 150 ocean pro J150VXSSS. It has factory oil injection on it.
The 2000 commercial grade Johnson150hp comes from factory with the non-oiling version of the VRO. Why?
What are some of the other part differences on this motor, vs the recreational model?

Don't know about Evi, but on other brand OB's the difference is having more SS parts, bolts, larger or heavy duty water pump, larger AV plate, different gear case reduction, heavy duty exterior painting.

Yep, that info should be stated on the commercial engines. Will last more too if saltwater used. With respect not having an VRO system is that when going commercial you don't want to be left stranded at open waters due to VRO system failing. One less important component to fail. You'll be working at fixed rpm for extended time periods as opposed to recreational engines which usually works idle to wot revs
