Re: omc repower questions

cmorr,

I am by far an expert at these things but I would think that, before this change, it would would be worth looking at the exhaust issues.

I replaced an OMC 3.0 with a Merc 2.5 which are supposed to be identical blocks and I had to change the bellhousing, coupler, cable harness and now the manifold and riser because of the mismatch with the OMC exhaust pipe. And it is a used motor so I still haven't an idea of the shape its in.

Just something to think about. These parts are expensive so that is why I mention it. I just dumped $480.00 into it after shelling out $1200 for a motor they said was supposed to "just drop in and go".

Good luck with it either way.

Take care.

I Think that,... That particular Swap would be a Waste of Time,+ Money,.......
As well as about Impossible to accomplish,.......

The Fitment Issues would be EVERYTHING but the Bellhousing Bolt Pattern........

You'd do Better, just Junking the Stringer Drive Completely,+ swapping in a 4.3l Volvo, or Mercruiser.......
