I have a 1979 OMC Sail Drive Zephyr on my 28' O'Day. I am getting water in the cylinder. My mechanic has replaced all seals and says there are no cracks... but the water is still seeping in. Does anyone have any advice as to what I should tell my mechanic to look for? I know very little about motors and even less about this Sail Drive unit.

I actually know where a brand new housing is. someplace about here I think I still have a 79 saildrive service manual. ill look for it, ill never ever work on another so I wont need it.<br /> changing a water pump is an act of god,congress and cursing.<br /> could also be a clogged or partially clogged muffler, if used. most used a version of the naqua lift muffer. if partially clogged it can bleed water back to the engine.
