ok i had a problem with my motor shifting into neutral and reverse. i filled it up with type c oil proceded to see if it would shift but when i gave the green wire 12v it sparked and blew my 20amp fuse. i switched the fuse and tried again and it did the same thing. i switch the fuse yet again and tried it from the switch in the box. same result. any ideas on why it is blowing the fuse and still not shifting??

It's blowing the fuse for a reason ... there's a short, either between the leads or to ground. Find the short before wasting more fuses. BTW, the green wire might be a ground and not wanting to see 12V. Check the wiring diagram for your motor.

Start by getting a Volt-Ohmmeter (HomeDepot, Radioshack, etc.) and get a book that describes simple electrical circuit troubleshooting. Go from there or get a friend with knowledge to help.

ok i got a ohmmeter and i tested the blue and green wires. ine reads .3 and the other 5.7. my neighbor whos a mechanic said that one is grounding out so im going to pull the lower unit again and check to see if anything is grounding out. im def thinking its the wire for neutral being thats the one giving a bad reading.
