Hey Guys, I have a good friend that has a '90 Bayliner 2735 with a Ford 460 hooked to a OMC King Cobra outdrive. I don't know squat about OMC's and really don't won't to according to what I hear you guys talking about. Anyway, the thing will start fine, put it in gear and go, everythings great. Pull it out of gear, it will not go to neutral til you kill the engine. Put it it neutral, start the engine, it will go into reverse, but won't come out of gear. I say it's the thing of a jig that makes the engine run on 4 cylinders briefly. He ordered one, but when it arrived, it was for a GM I believe. I don't have any manuals on this beast as I prefer Mercs. So I come asking advice again old wise ones. Any help will be welcomed.

Re: OMC Shifting Woes

Check the shift interrupt switch itself. If it's bad, any ESA unit you put on will do the same thing
PS: The ESA module is that "Thing of a jig that makes the engine run on 4 cylinders briefly" but you have to have workable switches before it will work.
