OMC steel tank vent?

I don't really know where to post this so I'm asking here. If it needs to be moved, feel free. I have an old 6 gallon metal tank in really good shape that I wanna use. It's not a two line tank so I assume it's not a pressure tank. Question is... How does it vent?

there is probably two pins on the male tank connector? if so, when you connect the line, it pushes those pins in, and that allows the tank to vent.

You're exactly right. There are two pins but I didn't know what they were for. Thanks a lot

you can check to make sure they function by putting the cap on tight, setting the tank in the sun for a bit, and pushing them in. its reverse of what they normally do, but will confirm they work.

One pin opens it up to allow fuel out and one pin opens to allows air in.

can I assume that when the fuel line is connected and pushes both pins in, it will also relieve pressure from the tank?

Yes, because that is what vents the tank. Read post # 4 again.
