Hello to all boatfolk.
Can anyone help me with some simple tips on this OMC stern drive?

A picture is attached.

This one has a small motor inside the transom which looks to take 12 volts to trim the leg. Crrect?
Also, left and right is acheived via cables by the looks of it.
Does water get sucked in the leg somewhere and throught that pipe in the right of the shot on the transom and into engine etc?

How do you put the engine in gear or reverse etc? at moment it is in neutral.
i take it one of the loose cables connects somewhere to the inner sterndrive area to gear it?

any help appreciated
thanks all

Re: OMC Stern Drive help

Hey badman. I can tell you that OMC stringer drives do in fact have a motor for tilting but it is NOT for trim! That is accomplished through adjustment of the motor mounts either manually or hydraulically if equipped. If you don't have it already, here is a link that I have found helpful on these old drives: OMC archive stuff Good luck.
