Where can I locate an operation manual for OMC sterndrives? The type of information that I am looking for is where are all of the cooling system drains? What are then correct proceedures for setting the outdrive angle? Fluid change itervals, etc. Thanks, Ron

it depends on the age

and older unit might have to found on e-bay or an aftermarket manual

if its newer you still may be able to buy it from a johnson/evinrude dealer and there are years when volvo was buying omc were it could be a volvo/omc

tommays

Try the Ken Cook Company. kencook.com/evinrudejohnsonmanuals
They've always come up with the manuals for some pretty old stuff that I was looking for.

By the way, you'll need the model no. and serial no. from the plate on the outdrive.

Welcome to Iboats!

A couple of words...
You have a TILT switch... usually on the console.
This raises and lowers the drive for transporting and docking. NEVER START THE ENGINE WITH THE DRIVE IN ANY POSITION OTHER THAN ALL THE WAY DOWN.

Most Stringers have a TRIM switch located on the throtle handle. And a TRIM INDICATOR located on the console. You use the trim to "trim out" the boat to get the best on plane performance. You just have to play with it and become accustomed to how it makes your boat perform.

I know this was brief, but hope it helps.
