Hi all,I have a few simple questions. My boat is a 19 foot 1982 Renken with OMC 140 and stringer 400.The manual calls for OMC HI-VIS premium lube in the upper, lower and intermediate units.I've found some in marine stores and changed every year but its getting expensive and hard to find. Can I use something cheaper and more available?

Also what about oil filter for engine can I use an AC ph 30 automotive or do I need Marine filter Like Sierra thats on there now? I only use in fresh water.

I know these maybe no brainers for most but ive always had outboards in past and am new to this..............Thank you all..This Forum has been a wonderfull learning tool for me.

any good quality 80W90 in your outdrive will work if you want to save some cash. Hi Vis is a pretty good price at the marina near me though.

auto oil filter likely as good as Sierra - probably just a different paint job
