I own a 82 OMC Stringer Drive. I have a opportunity to get a working 1978 OMC upper/lower/intermediate working unit for free if I will drive the 3 hours to pick it up. Presently I'm just trying to get a couple more years of life before I trade boats. My 82 is a mechanical drive. Does anyone know if a 1978 OMC Stringer Drive is the same drive or if it is the electric designated drive? I need to find out by the end of day on 3/30.
