My next step is to reinstall the 1981 3.8V6 OMC and Intermediate Box with mounts at the best height on the stringers relative to the existing transom aperture.
At present I think the transom boot channel around the intermediate comes far too close to the top of the gearbox aperture when the engine front lowers with its hydraulic mounts fully down.
If there are three levels of trim from high to low, would the middle level to enable the hull to ride flat be the standard setting?
Would that mean the intermediate box channel should be set parallel to the transom with equal up and down movement - so there would be the same gap top and bottom in the aperture?
I havn't used this boat or had power boat experience, so I don't know whether the hydraulic mounts usually remain in their middle position when on the plane or if there is a bias towards up or down.
