Anyone out there have substitutes for the following OMC chemicals?<br /><br />1. Needle bearing ass'y grease.<br />2. Sealer 1000.<br />3. Gasket Sealing Compound.<br /><br />All my old stuff is hardened up.
djohns19<br /><br />1. Vaseline for needle bearings (rather use 2-stroke oil)<br />2. Loctite 518 for gluing gaskets (not head gaskets) and installing seals<br />3. Loctite 518 and loctite 7649 primer for split crankcase (kit #22423)<br /><br />Just my small opinion...
sealer 1000 or adhesive m as omc calls it is no longer available after market that i have been able to find as for the needle brg grease you can use the mercury brand which is the better buy gasket sealing compound you can use permatex aviation sealer though i do prefer the omc brand mercury also has a gasket sealing compound which is very similar to the omc brand
