omc thermo switch and choke wiring diagram

is it neccesary to hook up the thermo switch on a 1973 omce 50 horse? the wiring from the thermo has been unhooked from the wiring block and also the 2 wires from the choke solenoid needs to be hooked back up. but i am having trouble finding a diagram that actually shows the right location on the row of wires. everone i have looked at, is totaly different than mine .
