May be a dumb question, but my nephew has a 1994 boat with a 90 hp Evinrude. Runs great but he asked me how to get high idle in neutral. I messed with the throttle controls and could not figure how to get throttle control in neutral. It has a red button under the top of the handle that allows you to shift into gear, but I saw nothing else for high idle. It's an OMC unit. If anyone knows the secret or obvious oversight on my part, I'd be happy to know. Thanks in advance.

Here's a picture of the handle.

Pull out, toward seat, on the gear shift lever. That disengages the gear shift portion and allows throttle without going into gear.

Push on the "omc" , most concealed controls work this way, it disengages the shifter. The other style pulls out, either or.

I'll try that. I assume you have to pull it by the base of the shift lever as to not damage it.

I tried pushing on the OMC logo. No go. That's how mine works although it is a button on mine.
