I made a special socket to hold the drive shaft while i tighten the pinion nut( make the wrench for the pinion nut toooo!!!)
and was telling the guys at work that I saved some money making instead of buying it. I wanted to check what it would cost to buy it. but cant find asy place that sells the tools

i figure BRP would sell it, but I cant find it on their website..

does anyone have a listing for a OMC tools?

I actualy found an ad on craiglist that a guy was selling a bunch of specialized OMC tools..

I am gonna have to look him up..one of his lots has the tool to set the shim height of the drive shaft!!!

The drive shaft tool and others are listed in the OEM shop manual. I made a number of drive shaft holders from junk cranks years back.

I would have thought, you would know, I know they EXIST.

that doesnt help one aquire them though

and the crank is certainly the most obvious make it yourself option..if you could find one.

i wire EDM'ed mine... just need to weld it to an old cut down 1/2 drive socket

so i can use it with the breaker bar

In used to buy them through the parts dept of the marina that I worked for.
Get the tool part number out of the manual and call your dealer and see if they will order them for you.

When you're in the business, junk cranks aren't hard to come by. BTW, plenty of cranks at the outboard wreckers. Most of them have zero use for bad cranks. You just need one with good splines.
