1982 larson omc with hydrolic trim motor mounts to raise and lower the motor. the motor in the pump was working fine till a couple weeks ago. it stopped working however i was able to get it fixed with some new brushes. problem is i removed the pump to get fixed and drained all the fluid. now i cant seem to get it hooked up correctly. the motor turs however the engine is only lifting on one side. i made the mistake of not marking the 4 hoses that attatch to the pump and i played a guessing game trying to hook it back up. there are two hoses coming from each motor mount to the pump. the pump has "two petcocks"(not sure what they are called) however two lines screw into each to make a total of 4. the petcocks then screw into the pump. should two lines from the same motor mount screw into the same petcock?????thats the way i have it.....or should it be one line from each mount to each petcock. either way i cant figure it out and every time i switch the lines i loose all the fluid which is impossible to fill. when i first hooked it up the right motor mount would raise and the left wouldnt however the right one would be enough to lift the left motor mount. if press down on the left side of the engine i can compress the motor mount with ease and have the motor sideways. i then tighted up some lines and tried to add some more fluid. now i get the right side moving up with ease however the left side is fully compressed and wont budge. if i lift the enging to much the left motor mount almost rips out of the wood its bolted it. so basically now i have nothing. all i can do is lift the right side about an inch before it struggles cause of the left mount locked down. did i hook it up wrong?? im lost and i have the motor all the way down in the marina and i will never be able to drive like this........help please

This is why they made FACTORY services manuals. You seem to be describing a stringer set up?? If so i would think two of the lines raise the engine and two lower it. Seems you have them crossed up somewhere??

well...i have same set-up....lines from cylinders (motor mounts) go to pump as follows: top lines from each of the cylinders go to one port on pump and bottom lines go to other.......on set of lines is to raise engine, other is to lower.....if you get them backwards, the engine will travel in wrong direction........just to be helpful.....I agree that a factory service manual is the best, but even a seloc manual is better than none...i wont be as rude as limited time though!!!!
