omc upper gearbox pinion gear

I have a 85 bayliner with the 5.0L with the OMC drive I have ben looking for just the pinion gear for the upper unit ( the one that is on the drive shaft going to the waterpump shaft) everyone tells me that i have to buy the gearset. can anyone help me out?

They are a match set, like ring gear and pinion in rear wheel drive car, truck.

yes, clanton i realise that but the omc drive only came out with one ratio gearset behind the 5.0L in the Bayliner

sorry, i was mistaken, there is three sets, the one i am looking for is the 17 tooth gear of the 17-21 set

i have a 5.0 upper from a 1988. i will check the ratio in the morn if your interested

the ratio i am looking for only came out from 78 to 86 acording to the books
