You guys aren't gonna believe this one! 250ci 165hp L6 The fitting broke were the oil sendr goes. I drilled it a little and managed to break the easyout off in the fitting. The n i took a 1/8 drill and drilled beside the broken easyout to try to break it free which i was able to do. I got the piece of easyout out. HOWEVER the 1/8 drill bit broke when got thrugh the fitting and it broke off INSIDE. It is in the oil journel somewhere. ANY suggestions??? :(

Re: Omg "unreal" Help !!!

ya may be alright sns, i think there's a plug at ea. end of the block that is a oil gally clean out passage. my guess would be take the plug out and ya should be able to see it. with luck....

i think that small plug is a clean out passage

it's in line with the oil sender.......

if i'm right, i'd think ya could go after it with a magnet once the plug is removed..... hope i'm right...... what a sinkin feeling just thinking about yer delema.... good luck....

Re: Omg "unreal" Help !!!

For next time something like that happens

drill and retap with a 1/8 pipe tap, crank engine to force oil thru hole to clean

drill a hole and use a "allen wrench" has a straight shank, wont jam up,plus drilling the larger hole relieves the stress on the remaining threads

worst case, drill and retapfor a smaller plug, threaded bolt, etc. and forget oil pressure

You might want to magnetize a long thin tool, or a piece of ordinary steel "tie wire" by holding a strong magnet against it as you try to attract, & pull out the broken bit.

Re: Omg "unreal" Help !!!

That worked great, Your my hero Ziggy> haha! All i was trying to do was put a mechanical gauge on the engine to start it geesh. Some small jobs I'll tell ya, they can turn into a nightmare quick. Thanks for the other responses too. Here are the drill bit pieces that came out of the oil cleanout. I had to make a tool to get that plug out, it's a smaller sqaure hole than 3/8 and bigger than 1/4 drive.
