On-board chargers

I need to add an onboard charger to the boat and will be getting a 2 bank (probably 10 amp per bank) charger.

I want to be able to wire it to both batteries individually and then plug the boat in. Primarily I worry about the house battery. It gets drained more and on our last trip did not get fully recharged while running the boat.

I've been looking at the promariner chargers, but it seems they get a fair amount of negative reviews for the chargers failing. They do get great scores for their response to the issues, but I would rather not have to worry about it failing in short order.

Any thought or recommendaitons for onboard chargers?

I've had no issues with my Promariner charger. I'd recommend the Promariner over my old "battery tender" any day!

Had a bunch of Guest chargers and all worked well -- no problems ever.

I have a Promariner 3 bank. Never an issue. Plug and Play.

My Guest 2311 went bad last year and cooked the batteries. It was at least 8 years old so I won't blame the charger.
Replaced it with a ProMariner 3-bank and so far so good.
All of todays 'smart chargers' will monitor each battery and apply the appropriate charge as needed.

Sounds like most have had good success with Promariner. Maybe they have a higher failure rate because they put out more units?
