installed it tonite and for the first time ever I heard this motor run and it ran on all three cylinders and idle smooth also:) Now knowing that is a runner :D, I am ready to invest the time and $ into the rest of the issues i need.
1. I need a trim pump motor. if anybody knows a cheap place or part number i'm all ears.
2. my throtle and shift cable dont work and i dont understand how they move the levers inside the motors:confused:
3. I need a steering cable.
How the hell do these cables work the levers under the engine cover:confused:

Kind of a vague question. Cables push and pull.

I'd repair the skeg first.

The cables are anchored. When operated they move the shifter and throttle.Just the oppisite from other brands.
Get somone in the boat to operate them as you spin the prop.
While operating watch the side of the motor where they are connected.
Just trying to move the shifter can damage the cables and shifter.
You might have enough left of the skeg to add a replacement(screw on type).J
