Re: One less expedition to pollute the world...
I always have a home made wheel chock, and I usually remember to use it. At the present time I have three boat trailers (for 5 boats). Each trailer has a spare tire bracket and a gear basket. I keep a wheel chock made from wood 8" X 8" X 14" attached to a length of cable in the basket. The other end of the cable is attached to the ¼-inch trailer safety cable. When I back down the ramp, I place the wheel chock behind the rear wheel of the tow vehicle. When I pull up the ramp, the cable drags the wheel chock with the trailer. The cable length is adjusted so that the wheel chock cant get caught under the trailer wheel. This was originally done as I got tired of replacing clutches on my pick-up. But it worked so I use it all the time now.
