that is sharp, are you gonna build another one? you could start your own boat line and probably make millions

That sure took some skill and determination. Don't be offended by this just think about it, design a system of wooden bows for your bimini, the comercial out of the box look really just doesn't fit in with the uniqueness of your build.
I know it's easier said than done but it would be so cool.

Not a fan of Pontoons personally, but obviously this one breaks the mold and i am a fan of craftsmanship, of which, this boat is full of.

Wow sir, that is one fantastic Pontoon!

Thanks for all the great compliments guys!

I agree that wooden bimini bows would be more in line with the overall design. I had all flavors of canopies on the design table. Everything from wooden bows as you suggest to a folding wooden hardtop. I actually only decided to go with the commercial version to save construction time. I will likely put a wooden top on in the future. I really want a full bimini someday.

Wow! Fantastic accomplishment! The design, engineering, craftsmanship, coloration, inlays, shaping, and execution are so inspiring. I'm still amazed when someone has such a grand idea, and then finally sees it to completion. You and your family must be very proud of this. Congrats!

Thanks for the compliments Larry!

It certainly was a grand idea! Much bigger than I had ever imagined! I am very fortunate that I was able to have the chance to "finish" the build. There are still many things to be completed before I can truely say that it is done. Still trying to get some kinks out as well.

I have some fairly ambitious "mods" to work on over this upcoming winter.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm glad that you like her.

She took a loooonnngggg time to design and build. Maybe someday she will be done-done, but not likely. I will always be working on her at some level.

Finally started to close the Stern. Thought I would include some recent pictures.

New Strips Added

If you look carefully, you can see the "High Brake Light" just under the flag. I'm hoping this will help protect the boat while being trailered.

Detail of Compound Curves

There is so much curvature in the bottom area that I can only attach 1 strip at a time, clamp it and wait for the glue to dry.

I have to make some 15 additional strips before I can finish this section. Then I'll sand the whole area before adding my veneered "Port of Call". Then fiberglass and 3-4 coats of epoxy will cover everything. I'll post some aditional pictures soon.

I've been following this. That's some talent you have, Woody. Your artistic abilities are above and beyond most and your craftmanship is bar none (none better). Keep 'er up! She is one of her kind. ;)

Re: One-of-a-Kind Pontoon --- All Wood

I recently found a fridge on Craig's List

My original plans called for one but my pocketbook said NO WAY when I found out how much money it would take. The one I got was in good shape and was running when I went to look it over.

It came with a black door panel. There is nothing black on the topside of my boat, and it looks very strange to see some there. It will be replaced with a "proper" door ..... made with mahogany wood!

It really felt bad cutting holes in the furniture!

It will match the 3 new arm rest/cup holder/storage boxes that I am finishing up.

Got my door panel together. A friend sand blasted the mounting frame for me. I then painted it tan to better match the upholstery. Still have to get the wiring in place before I can pemanently install it.

Just found this thread ... WOW, that is fantastic. The idea is great - love the deck space of a pontoon, but the wood take the style way up (big ol' cans don't make for pretty boats). Congratulations (belated) on sticking with that project. It is a beautiful boat.

Wow, I don't even like Toons and this is one of the most beautiful boats I have ever saw. This is truly a work of art. I am lost for words, I really don't know what else to say LOL.
