We have a 1985 Johnson 60hp and it ran fine for about 2 months and then one day we took it out and got about 2mil down the river and it just shut off and would not start. We took it home and still would not start. Took a plug out to see if we were getting spark and we were not. After reading on this great site we narrowed it down to the stator or power pack. We took the cover off Monday and we noticed that the bottom ignition coil was in bad shape as in the black stuff that is on it the rubber like stuff and gotten really hot and melted. So, since I found a great site that had all the CDI items we bought the stator, power pack, ignition coils and a trigger for $116 with free shipping I figured this should get us back up and going. Does anybody think there is anything else it could be? We have a new key switch and everything I found for this motor was just the stator coil things. Any suggestions would be great.

Thank You
Wade
