One Paint for Everything?

I am restoring an old 14 foot fiberglass runabout. I will be painting instead of reapplying gelcoat (I don't have the equipment). My question is... Is there ONE paint that I can use for the entire boat (topside and hull)? I will occasionally leave this boat in the water for 6 weeks at a time. I don't want anti-fouling matte paint as I want the entire boat to be one matching color.

Is there a marine paint that will not blister from sitting in the water and look good topside. I have checked interlux and petite. I just can't believe noone has come up with a product that can be painted on the entire boat (unless it's impossible).

Thanks in advance.

NOt sure of colors but you might talk to your local paint shop about using an epoxy paint. I did an older boat using it and it lasted for almost 8 years, sold it. Its a two part paint and you need to follow directions.

the purpose of 'bottom paint' is so sea/water stuff can't stick to the hull.. an peel & blister away..

if you to leave a boat in for 6 weeks or so,, you'd better have on some bottom paint...

in this area there's no easy answer & no magiciky paint,, yet...that i know of...

There is a thing called Topcoat. Looks like gelcoat but you apply by roller. Short-haired roller leaves a semi shine surface - longer haired roller leaves it more structured and can even provide for non-skid areas.
I'd apply this to the complete hull & bottom. Then I'd apply a 'hard' antifouling in the same or a matching color.

Thank you all very much. After researching for 3 weeks I'd come to the conclusion that nothing "magical" existed for my purpose. As a last ditch effort I tried here. I'll follow your suggestions and bite the bullet on antifouling.

Remember to check if your desired antifouling copes with storing out of the water. Some of them looses the ability to keep clean if allowed to dry out.
