Weve finally got the engines running great but I have one last(I hope) question. Ive done some searching and noticed some people have also asked this and some said it was normal, but Ive noticed the port side Y-pipe is always noticeably warmer than the starboard side Y-pipe. The manifolds and risers are nice and cool. The manifolds and risers are stock from 1990 and have only been used in fresh water. Engines run at 120-140 F and it was 90F when I noticed this with a water temp(of the lake) of 85F. Its like this on BOTH engines.

I can keep my hand on the Y-pipe if I really want to but its not too comfortable.

Wheres a good place to get the gaskets for the riser and manifold?

Thanks..

IS this in the water or on muffs, under load, or just at idle?

Get the proper OEM gaskets, either from here at iboats, or from your local VP dealer.

This is at idle in the water. Ive not checked them when the engines are under load but the temp of the engine never moves.

Raw Water pumps were changed out when the boat was opened in the late winter/early spring.

Then your problem sounds normal and not reallly a problem.

Just make sure you have a good raw water pump and impeller, and no air leaks on the intake side.
At low rpm, there is only a small amount of water flowing, and it will take the path of least resistance.
Just raise the rpm up to about 1500 rpm while in neutral, bet the temps equal out.
