I'm one of the newbies here and have been asking a bunch of questions about a recent 1988 Starcraft boat I got. Here is something that might help out others.
1) I found this site: http://tinyurl.com/32avze These people are great! I talked with them over the phone and they helped me find my Mercruiser parts and I believe at a good price. They have a ton of parts not to mention most needed diagrams.
2) I found a close-out Clymer manual for my Merc and it's fantastic. It has answered every single question I have asked. It listed for $90 and they were selling them at $34. I have pretty much read through the entire manual and am very impressed.
3) A big thanks to all who have answered my posts and helped me out. I hope to finish my repairs in the next week or two, probably just in time to have all the rest of the local lakes closed because of the drought, we live in Raleigh NC.
