online prop repair shops

I need some work done to a SS Quicksilver prop. Nothing major just a few very small nicks and one blade tip is bent ever so slightly.

I'm not even sure if I can get it repaired locally and so on a whim I "Googled" prop repair.

Anybody have any experience with online prop repair shops?

Shipping costs to and from plus the cost of the repair can make it close to the price of new. Have it done locally unless there are unusual considerations.

Nothing unusual, I just haven't found anyone local but I must admit I haven't looked to hard. My time (or lack of) is a consideration. I have a UPS account and can have pickup and delivery right at work which saves time.

Shipping costs to and from plus the cost of the repair can make it close to the price of new. .

I guess depending on the shop. Shop A repairs up to 16" 3 blade stainless props for $80.00 & I pay shipping both ways or $135.00 including shipping both ways....$80.00 and I pay shipping would be the way to go with them.

Shop B is $130.00 I pay shipping to them, return shipping is on their dime.

Both claim 2-3 day turnaround.

New runs $350.00+

Just wondering if anyone has shipped a prop for repair and If so would they recommed the/a shop.

I work at a prop shop in Florida, you can visit us at www.******************. We are a very reputable shop, we have been in business since 1945. $80.00 sounds about right for that repair. Kevin, I registered on your forum the other night. Every time I look at one post I get a message to log in again and then it won't recognize my password. I get a new one, log in and after 1 view it doesn't know me.

Good idea, what little I've seen looked good. But really aggravating. Just did it twice in the last 5 minutes. Not being a smart axx, just letting you know. maybe you don't want me on there, that's fine too. No biggie.

I appreciate the offer but I found a local shop about 20 minutes from me. Three separate recommendations, two from competing marinas and one from a marine repair shop.

I got the prop repaired and a new skeg in less than two business days.

No dhadley, we want everybody there. I will look into it. So far yours is the first problem I have had with it. I will check into the issues and let you know. I am sorry that you are having trouble with it.
