I have a 1996 7.4 bravoII. I can only find 3 zirks! 1 for the gimbel bearing and 2 up behind the motor for the splines ( what a pita they are to get to) Am I missing or overlooking some other greasables? I know the u-joints and such, and will do them when I pull the lower unit in the fall.

I think there is a zerk on the out side of the transom shield and its also for the gymbal bearing. In fact I think the ones on the inside of the boat are for the splies in the engine coupler.

You know you should also pull your prop every 20 hours in the water and re grease the prop shaft splines.

The U joints may or may not have zerks depending on if they have life time grease seals or not. If they have zerks then grease them if not you cant.

I have greased all of what you spoke of. No wonder you hear about this stuff breaking and wearing out so often. If you can't grease the gimbel pivots and all the other moving parts how are you suppose to get any longevity out of this stuff? Metal to metal without grease is bad news!!

Yea as far as I know there are now fittings to grease the hinge pins your right.

Infact there is nothing in the book about pulling the sender and limit switch and re lubing the hinge pins. I guess its not that big a deal if you think about it the drive only moves extreamly up and down when trailering and not all the much when trimming.

And no there is no grease fitting for the upper and lover swival pins either. I know I just had my upper swival shaft replaced and there is only two bushings with seals that hold grease in once installed.
