I’m wondering if the original drive was replaced at some point with one originally intended for a V8?
In this case I’d think you might need a 17 or even 15 pitch prop….

Don't know what the drive ratio is but if its 1.47 then don't change a thing, your at 7% slip
Be very unlikely I’d think AD. Being a 4.3. More likely a 1.6-1.8, you’d imagine. I’d suggest it’s revving more than 4400 in reality

Hi. I’d say that if your gps is correct…then I’d be almost certain your tachometer isn’t. 50 mph from a 19ft bowrider and a carb 4.3 is about as good as it gets really. About the Quickest similar boat I’ve been in was a regal 1900 with a 4.3 mpi and 1.6 ratio (I’m sure). That ran to around 52/53 at just short of 4900 rpm. I’d assume you have the same ratio…so it would be unlikely that you are only doing 4400 rpm. Like I say…50 mph gps is as good as it gets for a set up like that and rarely achieved by anything other than close to prop perfection and a performance prop at that.

Sure did. And a few others. I’m still not buying this. Are we thinking that a 4.3 carb on a 19ft boat, can turn a 19ā€ prop to 4400 and 50 mph through a 1.47r ? Would be hellish bad to plane too.

There are v8 19ft bowriders with a 1.47r that won’t turn a 19ā€ prop well and struggle to plane

Must be very light, you’d imagine. I’m amazed it’s getting to 4400
That said…never underestimate a good 4.3. Probably my favourite engine of them all…pound for pound

Used to pull a lot of boards around. I prop'd down a couple inches and stuck a Solas 4 blade on. I have a 1:81 drive, and my boat is smaller, so numbers aren't matchable. I'd recommend similar, drop 2 inches and go with a 4 blade for pulling toys. Never notice a difference at cruise other than getting up to speed quicker.

Mine hit 49 @ 4600 with a 23p and a 1.84, so same ballpark
