Any of you guys feeling a little light in the pockets this time of year? Ive been on my boat about 15 times this year. Its been a good year but everytime I fill up its 75 big ones when gas cost $5 a gallon. I think I have 2-3 more outings if that left in me this year. A great year however! But.........I booked a fishing trip with a guide with my 2 sons in early october. Lake Geneva or Lake Delavan. Cant wait......

I have two advantages there - I trailer, so not filling up on the lake and gas in Tennessee is in the low $3's right now. It's been dropping, but not quick enough.

A day on the lake is still pretty reasonable price tag wise though.

I know the feeling. I got hit really hard this month with maintenance items on my car, trailer, boat, as well as spending a little extra before things started breaking. No big deal though. Gotta pay to play. Every trip reminds me of how much I enjoy being on the water though. :)

The only time I felt it was on our week long vacation to Lake Norris. The boat was on the water the entire week, and we had to fill up at the marinas at $4.19/gal. Since we were out in the boat tubing and cruising every day, I had to fill up more than usual. I think I spent close to $400 on fuel for the boat that week alone. Ouch!

In 1.5 months I had to replace my 5.7 in my boat, do about 2 grand in repairs to my car, and another $500 to my truck. The cost of life!

Wish I'd have been out 15 times! I've only been out twice! One of the reasons I'm looking to downsize to a 20-23' open bow.

According to the latest average price listing I'm thinking JB is using Texas Math in his figuring.

I use my American Express Costco Business card with 4% rebate on gasoline. At $3.70/gallon that equates to almost $0.15/gallon.

For this quarter, my Chase cards give 5% rebate.

?

Do you guys pay road tax at the pump?
Do you have what we call marked gas which has no road tax?

Not like they do in Canada...at least in most states. If states do have marked gas its only to remove the state tax, the federal tax would still be there.

At $2.29 a gallon why are you buying wal-mart gas? Or is gas only $2.29 a gallon at wal-mart. I'd be afraid to put gas that cheap in my tank.

My bad, woodsy. The pump price was $3.39. My WalMart card got a discount to $3.29. That is in line with the state avg.

The only marked fuel I see is offroad diesel, which i run in my tractor. It has red dye in it to hopefully catch the cheats who run it in their on road vehicles.

$3.85 a gallon for 87 on Olympic Peninsula were out there away from the big city and hiways so we pay a bit more then the states average. I think our state tax is around 35 cents a gallon its probally more. It's kind of depressing your giving the state 7 dollars plus every tank full.

BTW I checked and its 37.5 cents a gallon tax in washington.
