Hey guys,

I just wanted to get your opinions on a 1997 WellCraft 190 CCF with a Johnson 115 SPL.

How is the build quality on these boats?
Any Common problems?
Do they handle Chop well? Will be used for Striper fishing in the bay
Is the Johnson SPL a good motor? Haven't heard of SPL before.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Re: Opinion for new boat 97 Wellcraft CCF

My last boat was a Wellcraft 1950 SS open bow run about 1996 vintage. I think they have the same basic hull though. Wellcrafts are heavy boats and made very well. I am not sure about that motor, may be a tad underpowered for that big of a boat. I had no problems with mine though and it had no rot issues when I sold it. I had the snap out carpet though and I think that makes a difference on how much water gets into the wood.
