Opinions and Suggestions needed on a rebuild

I have my eye on an extremely clean 2004 Yamaha 40 hp 2 stroke motor that I am told has a bad cylinder. I am not very familiar with Yamahas but have rebuilt several Johnson outboards in the past with excellent results. My questions are: First, does $800 sound fair for this outboard? (it truly is in fantastic condition otherwise and comes with the controls). Secondly, what should the total cost run me? (round about). Third question is...do these motors have a good reputation? Should I keep the oil injection? And finally, Is the rebuild pretty straight forward working with the service manual or are there any hints/things to look out for? I attempted to upload some pics of the motor...hopefully they will show up. Thanks for any input and sorry for all the questions. This site is awesome.

Do compression test on all 3 cylinders to find out if one of them is bad. Maybe cylinder ain't bad...maybe something else. Who said it was bad and how do they know?

I picked up the above mentioned motor and it is in very good condition otherwise. The top cylinder is bad. Piston damage and cylinder wall scarring are present. Anyone know what the best service/repair manual for this particular outboard is? Thanks in advance.

The one from Yamaha is my choice .
I would never pay money for a broke outboard unless I needed known good parts parts from it to fix a different one.
Do you know if the crank and bearings are good?
